WORLDWIDE SEPTEMBER 11 MEMORIAL CONCERT

On September 11, the Avenue of the Arts Chorale will host the only Boston performance of The Rolling Requiem, a worldwide memorial concert conceived by the Seattle Symphony Chorale. Avenue of the Arts will perform Mozartıs Requiem at 8:46 a.m., the time of the first World Trade Center attack, at Central Congregational Church, 85 Seaverns Ave., Jamaica Plain. More than 100 singers and musicians representing musical organizations throughout greater Boston are currently scheduled to perform under the direction of Anne Watson Born.

Performances of The Rolling Requiem will commence at 8:46 a.m. in each time zone, beginning at the International Date Line and proceeding around the globe. Hour by hour, as the music ceases in one time zone it will commence in the next, as singers and musicians in dozens of countries and in cities across America pass the Requiem westward with the sun.
